Tuscany is a region of timeless beauty and rich culture. Its landscapes of rolling hills coated with vineyards and cypress trees and crowned by medieval hill-top villages are famed throughout the world, immortalised in the works of great artists. Tuscany is, of course, also renowned for its wines, particularly Chianti, a wonderful accompaniment to delicious Tuscan dishes of pasta and beans. At most of the hotels your stay is on a bed and breakfast basis, leaving you free to take your pick of the local restaurants. If your stay in San Gimignano falls on a Thursday in June, July or early September, you can visit nearby Casale Falchini free of charge as part of our Behind the Bottle programme. Not normally open to the public, Casale Falchini produces superb Vernaccia whites which you will be able to taste after a short tour of the winery.
